We are so excited to have Canadian designer Pure Magnolia in the shop next weekend for a trunk show! The line is perfect for a summer wedding- low backs, lightweight fabrics, pretty floral bustiers, and a sweet crop top!
Pure Magnolia was started in 2009 by Designer Patty Nayel who wanted to give local and international brides an eco option for their wedding dress. This was definitely something that brides were looking for because the collection quickly became popular in Vancouver and is now available at select boutiques across Canada. The collection is made up of customizable dresses made from European laces, Indian Silks and Organic cottons.
I met Patty at New York Bridal Fashion Week, and was very impressed with her designs and construction.
Book your appointment now- the gowns will be at Cicada for one weekend only!

I don't usually feature real weddings on the blog- but this one appealed to me in a number of ways. Most of you know our shop is located in the heart of downtown Seattle. There has been a lot of change downtown over the years, and the remodel of the King Street Station is an impressive restoration of a historic building in a time when so much new construction is changing the look and feel of this city.
I had the pleasure of working with Mallory during her fittings, a very sweet and laid back bride. She chose our Nikita gown because of it's comfort and easy flow. Her shoe choice was the most unique I'd seen this season (love them!). I think the photographer GH Kim captured both the beauty of the surroundings, and the special moments between Mallory and Kyle equally well. A wonderful example of an elegant downtown wedding, with a relaxed attitude.
Did you see our Giselle gown in Chantilly Lace in the latest issue of Seattle Bride Magazine?
It is always so thrilling to see our designs so artfully photographed in this innovative magazine- they truly are an indispensable local bridal resource! I thought it would be fun to show the photos of our gowns that have appeared in Seattle Bride over the last 5 years.
I'd love to know what your favorite pic is- and your favorite gown!
This light and lovely theme feels like a breath of spring air. White and pale green are a fresh understated look that highlights the seasonal flowers. The Claire La Faye gown "Enchanted" has stunning textural flowers covering the bodice and a light as air silk chiffon skirt. Love this gown? We carry it at Cicada Bridal so you can come in and try it on!

What I love about this Dairyland farm photo shoot is the way the modern details blend with the rustic setting. Rachel is wearing our Olivia gown (above) and Marie gown (below). Both gowns look very natural in the barn. The Olivia has more of a relaxed feel, it is made with slightly stretchy lace and silk charmeuse so it is a very light easy to wear gown. The Marie has a flowy chiffon skirt which helps give the classic ballgown shape just the right amount of movement to balance the structured bodice. And if you are a dog lover like me- the adorable corgi's name is Patty and belongs to Laurel of Laurel's Florals.
